About Pat ... 

Pat was born and raised in the U.S. - Indiana, and then Philadelphia, attending Swarthmore College. Later, she lived, worked, and studied in London, England for over 30 years.

She began drawing and painting at the local Adult Education centre in London in the 1970's, then established a practice, showing and selling work.
In 1998 she was accepted at the Wimbledon School of Art on their M.A. degree course (in drawing) on the basis of her existing portfolio. Having gained an M.A. in Drawing in Fine Art, she decided to continue with a formal education.  In 2004, she gained a Ph.D. degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London in the visual arts.  This degree comprises both practice and theory. The thesis abstract  is included on a later page; a selection of images of the practical work can be seen on request. From 2004 through 2008 she maintained a studio in the 100-studio complex at Wimbledon Art Studios, London, England, selling and showing paintings and drawings.

In the spring of 2008 Pat and her husband moved from London to the U.S., and Pat now has has now established working studios in New Bedford, MA and in Phoenix, AZ. , and now works between the two studios.


Pat makes abstracted figurative work, experimenting with representation of the human figure, emphasizing energies and ambiguities.
